OUR HISTORY
1992
April - Kitchen Angels is founded by Tony D'Agostino, Leise Sargent and Anna Huserik.

June - Kitchen Angels volunteers prepare and pack the first meals for delivery from the kitchen of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Within the first six months of service 2000 meals are delivered to 80 clients.
Sept. 27 - "The Power of Miracles" with Marianne Williamson, Marsha Mason & Joyce Dewitt, Kitchen Angel's first fundraiser.
October - The Frost Foundation awards Kitchen Angels its first large grant.
1995
Organization moves to the old National Guard Armory kitchen.

1996
Kitchen Angels volunteers prepare and deliver our 50,000th meal.

1997
Kitchen Angels forms a collaboration with Beneficial Farms, a community supported agriculture project producing organic, biodynamic food.

This partnership allows Kitchen Angels to provide nutrient-rich and pesticide free meals to people with over-taxed immune systems.
Beneficial Farms uses our kitchen trimmings as compost for future crops.
1999
Frozen Meal Program is established, providing weekend meals to those who might otherwise go without, and making meals available to thos outside our daily delivery area. 114 meals are distributed in the first month of newly expanded service.
2000
First publishing of Seasons of Santa Fe the Kitchen Angels cookbook.

Negotiation of Public Service Agreement and land lease with City of Santa Fe.
Kitchen Angels delivers 100,000th meal.
Expansion of Frozen Meal Program into more rural areas of Northern New Mexico; 4,367 frozen meals distributed.
2001
Working to end hunger in Northern New Mexico, Kitchen Angels collaborates with The Food Depot.
The facility is also the home of Food for Santa Fe.

Kitchen Angels moves to it's new offices and kitchen at 1222 Siler Road.

2002
Kitchen Angels celebrates 10th Anniversary.

Since 1992 Kitchen Angels has prepared and delivered meals to more than 1,500 clients.
Continued expansion of Frozen Meal Program into Taos, Los Alamos, Espanola, and Pojoaque; 6,000 frozen meals distributed.

2003
17th Annual Pinon Awards

Kitchen Angels is the recipient of the Dr. Brian Moynahan Award for Health and Human Services. The award is presented each year by the Santa Fe Community Foundation.

2004
Health & Human Services Week in Santa Fe

To heighten community awareness of Santa Fe's critical health and human service needs and to benchmark the community's progress in meeting those needs, Vanessie of Santa Fe hosts the first annual, Health & Human Services Week in Santa Fe. Proceeds of the week are donated to "front line" organizations participating in the event.

2005
A Gathering of Leaders for the Future of Our Community

High points of 2005 include preparation and delivery of 40,000 nutritious meals to more than 200 homebound friends and neighbors and a Santa Fe Futures Award from the Future, "For directly addressing a serious problem in our community that is often under the radar, and for providing an example of how different nonprofit agencies that are tackling different aspects of a large problem with distinct, individual and effective approaches can work together under one roof."

2007
Kitchen Angels celebrates 15 years of service to the homebound community of Santa Fe with a gala performance by Broadway Legend Bernadette Peters.
The event was staged at The Santa Fe Opera Theater and Ms. Peters was accompanied by The Santa Fe Symphony.

2008
Best Local Nonprofit Because People Need People
Some of the local cowboys we rounded up to celebrate
another year of service. Volunteers enjoyed a delicious
